Tobias & Tobias define search strategy for stock photography provider Image Source.
Stock photography creator and retailer Image Source has been a client of ours since 2007. Previously, we have contributed our expertise in the areas of user research, UX, usability testing and design. But on this project we have worked with Image Source in the area of search engine optimisation.
Image Source has identified a potential business benefit in making their site more effectively optimised for search. We have not only helped them understand the steps they need to take to achieve this goal - we have provided a strategic overview of the search market to inform future decision-making around SEO.
To do this, we applied our search market analysis methodology to define the search landscape in Image Source's industry. What keywords are potential customers using, and how often are they searching? Which keywords imply a high conversion propensity? What revenue uplit might be achieved by better performance on search engines? Answering these questions has allowed us to define a keyword strategy for Image Source that will help them target intelligently and effectively.
However, as an agency with expertise in user experience and development, we do not approach search in isolation. We understand that it is just the first step in a user journey that should hopefully end in conversion. As a result our work for Image Source also involved liaising with their technology partners to discuss the feasibility of various SEO projects, as well as a focus on the onward customer journeys - where will a user go once a search query leads them to the Image Source website?
We are confident that our strategic work will help Image Source significantly boost its online revenues throughout 2010 and look forward to seeing that happen.
